What KnowCarCost is
KnowCarCost provides free online calculators that estimate car costs — purchase, fuel or electricity, tax, insurance, maintenance, depreciation and finance — based on the figures you enter and market default data we show alongside each result.
Estimates, not advice
Every result is an estimate, not an exact quote, and nothing on this site is financial, legal or professional advice. Prices, tax rules, incentives, insurance premiums and resale values change. Always verify with current official sources and obtain professional advice before making a significant decision such as buying, financing or insuring a vehicle.
Data and sources
Where we provide default figures (for example fuel prices or typical road-tax costs) we show the source and the date the data was captured. Some defaults are marked unverified where no source is yet available — treat those as illustrative starting points, not facts. Vehicle specifications come from official datasets (EPA, Natural Resources Canada, UK VCA and similar) and are labelled with their source.
No warranty
The site and its calculators are provided as-is and as-available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for decisions made, or losses incurred, in reliance on the calculators or any content on this site.
Acceptable use
Use the site lawfully. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, scrape it at abusive volumes, or use it in a way that could mislead others about vehicle costs.
Changes
We may update these terms as the site develops. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
